HV Design Engineer
Bristol
£62-68 an hour
12 Month Initial Contract

Essential Skillset:

Design HV and LV electrical systems for solar projects
Produce and review Single Line Diagrams
Manage grid connection applications and liaise directly with DNOs
Strong understanding of Grid Code requirements including G99 and G100
Specify primary plant including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, inverters, and metering
Support protection design and relay settings in line with DNO requirements
Review and respond to DNO technical queries and connection offers
Provide technical support through procurement, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and energisation
Ensure compliance with BS, IEC, ENA standards and project-specific requirements
Support design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises
Experience with grid modelling tools such as ETAP or similar
Strong experience within solar PV, renewables, or power generation sector
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
