Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum requirement for this position is a suitable qualification to teach Humanities i.e PGCE, with valid QTS/QTLS

The School and Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated Humanities Teacher to cover maternity leave at a vibrant secondary school in Sheldon. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching History and Geography, inspiring students to explore and understand the world around them. Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in History and Geography to secondary school students.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and academic success.
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and school events.

Requirements

The successful Humanities Teacher will have;

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching History and Geography at the secondary level.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring curiosity in students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment.
Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
*All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
