Start Date: September 2026 (or ongoing/flexible start dates available)

Pay: £168 - £232 per day (dependent on experience & role)

CER Education is recruiting a Humanities Teacher to support secondary schools across the Merseyside area. This role is suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers who are confident delivering History, Geography, or Religious Education and looking for flexible or long-term work within supportive school environments.

The Role

You will be responsible for teaching Humanities subjects across Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4, delivering clear, engaging, and thought-provoking lessons that support pupil progress. The role involves managing classroom behaviour effectively, following individual school policies, and keeping students focused and on task. You will be expected to assess learning where appropriate and provide feedback to support pupil achievement, working closely with teaching colleagues and wider Humanities departments.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.

Experience teaching History, Geography, or Religious Education within a UK secondary school (including PGCE placements).

Confident classroom management and behaviour management skills.

Strong passion for Humanities and the ability to inspire pupils across all abilities.

All pay rates provided are inclusive of rolled-up holiday pay.

Pay will depend on current pay scale; evidence of this will need to be provided.
