Job Opportunity: Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated good secondary school in Didsbury. This is a full-time position starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting both students and teachers within the humanities department. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Student Support:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, assisting them with understanding concepts in subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
Help students with homework, coursework, and exam preparation.
Identify and address areas where students need additional support, using your subject knowledge to enhance their understanding.
Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback to the classroom teacher.
Classroom Assistance:

Support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging and effective humanities lessons.
Assist in preparing learning materials and resources tailored to the needs of individual students.
Aid in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assist with the planning and implementation of interventions for students requiring extra help.
Administrative Duties:

Help with classroom organisation and management.
Assist in the preparation and organisation of classroom displays and resources.
Support the teacher with marking and providing feedback on student work.
Extra-Curricular Activities:

Participate in and support school events and extra-curricular activities, particularly those related to humanities subjects.
Help organise and supervise educational trips and activities that enhance the learning experience.
Collaboration and Communication:

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff members to support student learning and development.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress when necessary.
Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:

A degree in a Humanities subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies) with a strong academic record.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for education and supporting students.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Previous experience working with young people, either in a school setting or through voluntary work, is desirable but not essential.
