Human Tissue Bank Manager

A Human Tissue Bank Manager is required for a innovative and rapidly growing biotechnology company focused on advancing the development of novel therapies in areas of high unmet medical need. Biological samples sit at the heart of their research, providing the foundation for cutting-edge scientific discovery and therapeutic development.
As a Human Tissue Bank Manager, you will take ownership of the company's human tissue repository, ensuring the highest standards of sample management, regulatory compliance, data integrity, and operational excellence. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in enabling world-class research within a highly collaborative scientific environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day management of a human tissue repository, overseeing the full lifecycle of biological samples.
* Coordinate sample procurement, registration, storage, inventory management, distribution and tracking.
* Maintain complete traceability of biospecimens using laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
* Ensure compliance with HTA regulations, GDPR requirements, research ethics guidelines and internal quality standards.
* Manage SOPs, quality systems, audits and inspection readiness activities.
* Work closely with scientists, project teams and data specialists to support research programmes and facilitate access to samples.
* Generate reports and insights on inventory, utilisation and operational performance.
* Coordinate sample shipments and external supplier relationships.
* Train and mentor colleagues on best practices in biospecimen handling and repository operations.
Required background
* Degree qualified in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry or a related life sciences discipline.
* Experience managing human tissue banks, biorepositories, biobanks or biospecimen operations.
* Strong knowledge of HTA regulations and the governance of human biological samples.
* Experience working with LIMS or biobank management systems.
* Background in sample management, laboratory operations, quality assurance or translational research environments.
* Excellent organisational, stakeholder management and communication skills.
