Jackson Hogg have partnered with a specialist engineering business in the Northumberland area on a HSSEQ Coordinator position, which will be responsible for strengthening the Quality Management System (QMS), supporting HSSEQ activities and helping to drive continuous improvement across the business.
This role would suit someone experienced in a HSEQ position, but also graduates leaving university looking for their first role in an engineering based business, keen to learn and develop within the role.
This role is central to how the business manages Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), observations, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), ensuring issues are identified, understood, and resolved in a structured and data-driven way. You’ll work closely with cross-functional engineering, operations, and project teams to improve compliance, efficiency, and operational excellence.
HSSEQ Coordinator Responsibilities
* You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the QMS and HSSEQ performance, including:
* Managing and coordinating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) from identification through to closure
* Leading and supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities, ensuring actions are effective and measurable
* Tracking HSSEQ observations and ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
* Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and procedures
* Maintaining and improving QMS documentation, workflows, and reporting systems
* Producing clear, structured analysis of HSSEQ and quality data
* Developing dashboards, charts, and reports to communicate trends and insights effectively
* Working with engineering and project teams to embed continuous improvement practices
* Exploring and piloting AI-enabled tools to improve documentation, analysis and decision-making
HSSEQ Coordinator Requirements
You bring structure and analytical thinking to complex problems. You’re comfortable working with data, people and processes and you know how to turn findings into an action plan.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and process issues
* Detail-focused and highly organised, able to bring order to complex situations
* Analytical mindset with a strong ability to identify patterns, trends and root causes
* Skilled in turning data into clear visual outputs (dashboards, graphs, charts)
* Curious about AI and digital tools, with a drive to improve how the work gets done
* Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive approach to efficiency
* Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
* Engineering background, bachelor’s degree in mechanical, or related Engineering field, or equivalent experience.
* Data and trend analysis, Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support evidence based decision making.
* Process improvement, with experience in process mapping, workflow optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Digital and AI tools, Competent with modern digital platforms and AI enabled tools to enhance engineering and quality processes
