Health & Safety Manager Power Station Conversion and further construction projects

Salary: £45,000£60,000

Initial Project: £28m Roofing Construction Package | Duration: Approx. 2 years then more to follow

We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead H&S across a major roofing construction package within a power station conversion project.

You'll provide visible, proactive leadership across a busy construction environment, working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, subcontractors and wider project team to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with UK legislation, CDM requirements and project standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead H&S arrangements and maintain the project Health & Safety Plan.
Review RAMS and ensure effective controls for high-risk construction activities.
Monitor working at height, roof-edge protection, lifting operations, temporary works, plant, MEWPs, scaffolding and hot works.
Conduct site inspections, audits, safety tours and investigations.
Manage contractor/subcontractor compliance and close out corrective actions.
Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses.
Promote workforce engagement, near-miss reporting and a strong safety culture.
Provide H&S advice to management, supervisors and site teams.

About You

Essential

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
Strong construction H&S experience, ideally on major projects.
Commercial and practical approach to site safety.
Experience managing subcontractors and multiple site interfaces.
Strong knowledge of working-at-height and construction safety requirements.
Confident communicator who can challenge unsafe practices professionally.
CSCS and SMSTS.
IOSH membership/qualification desirable.

Desirable

Infrastructure, data centre, energy, industrial or major construction experience.
Roofing/building-envelope experience.
NEBOSH Construction qualification.
Knowledge of Dalux BIM Viewer / Field View.
Experience within a Principal Contractor environment.
