A leading food manufacturing business is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to take the lead in shaping and delivering the site’s safety and sustainability strategy.
Role Overview
As HSE Manager, you’ll lead health, safety, and environmental systems on-site, ensuring compliance, promoting best practice, and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
If you have a strong background in HSE management within manufacturing or FMCG, this role offers the chance to make a real impact across both site and group operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the site.

Advise the General Manager and site leadership on compliance standards and HSE performance
*
Lead site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, implementing corrective and preventive measures as needed
*
Manage incident investigations, maintain accident records, and ensure statutory reporting is completed on time
*
Oversee fire safety compliance, including risk assessments, drills, and statutory documentation
*
Coordinate environmental compliance activities, including waste management, EPR permits, and sustainability reporting
*
Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency, insurers, and enforcement authorities
*
Support training and awareness programmes to strengthen HSE knowledge and engagement across teams
*
Provide regular reports on health, safety, and environmental KPIs, ensuring alignment with group standards
Your Profile:
*
Proven experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental management role within manufacturing or FMCG
*
Strong understanding of HSE legislation, compliance standards, and audit requirements
*
NEBOSH or equivalent HSE qualification (IOSH Managing Safely or higher preferred)
*
Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to engage effectively across all levels
*
Strong organisational and analytical abilities with attention to detail
