HSE Advisor / Manager

Midlands & North Region | £50,000 - £60,000 + Car/Allowance + Fuel Card + Benefits

Are you an experienced HSE Advisor or HSE Manager looking to join a market-leading specialist contractor delivering some of the UK's most challenging and technically complex projects?

Our client is a leading principal contractor specialising in demolition, earthworks, remediation and enabling works, operating across the petrochemical, nuclear, industrial and commercial sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced HSE professional to support operations across multiple sites throughout the Midlands and North regions.

Reporting directly to the HSE Director, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping health, safety and environmental performance across a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects.

The Role

As HSE Advisor / Manager, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across several live construction and civils projects.

You will work closely with operational teams, project managers and senior leadership to drive a positive safety culture and ensure HSE best practice is embedded throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and promote HSE standards across multiple projects.
Support the continued development of a positive and proactive safety culture.
Conduct site audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, implementing effective corrective actions.
Provide practical HSE advice and guidance to project teams.
Monitor compliance with company procedures, client requirements and relevant legislation.
Review RAMS, CPPs and associated project documentation.
Deliver toolbox talks, briefings and safety campaigns.
Produce HSE reports and KPI data for senior management.
Support external audits and client inspections.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
About You

We are keen to speak with individuals who have gained experience working for:

Specialist contractors operating within demolition, remediation, earthworks, civils, industrial services or related sectors; or
Tier 1 contractors with broad construction, infrastructure or industrial project experience.
You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation whilst maintaining a visible presence on site.

Essential Requirements

NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
CertIOSH or CMIOSH.
Proven HSE experience within construction, civil engineering, industrial, demolition, remediation or related environments.
Experience carrying out audits, inspections and incident investigations.
Strong understanding of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Willingness to travel across projects within the Midlands and North regions.
Desirable

Knowledge of Procore.
Strong Microsoft Office package skills.
