Senior HSE Advisor (Offshore Wind) - Contract

Duration: November 2026 - December 2027
Location: UK (Hybrid, 2-3 days per week in office)
Travel: Regular UK offshore travel required
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to provide QHSE support to cross-site delivery teams involved in major maintenance and engineering activities across a portfolio of operational renewable energy assets.

This role will support projects including heavy lift operations, major component exchanges, technical engineering projects, and specialist offshore tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe planning, mobilisation, and execution of projects across UK sites, with occasional support to teams in Northern Europe.

The position is primarily UK-based with a hybrid working arrangement and regular offshore visits.

Key Responsibilities

* Support project planning and mobilisation activities to ensure safe execution of work scopes.

* Develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

* Provide visible HSE leadership through offshore site visits, inspections, audits, emergency drills, and exercises conducted from vessels and offshore assets.

* Investigate incidents and ensure accurate reporting, analysis, and implementation of lessons learned.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on standardisation, procedural enhancements, and risk reduction.

* Support the development and implementation of emergency response standards and assurance activities.

* Facilitate HAZID workshops and other risk assessment activities.

* Promote a proactive safety culture across project and operational teams.

* Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.

Required Experience & Qualifications

* Previous experience in a Senior HSE Advisor, HSE Engineer, or similar role within offshore environments.

* Experience supporting offshore wind and/or oil & gas operations.

* Strong understanding of high-risk operations and project execution activities.

* Experience facilitating HAZID sessions and other structured risk assessments.

* Knowledge of:

* Bowtie methodologies

* Barrier management

* Performance standards

* Assurance and verification activities

* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

* Experience leading or supporting improvement projects.

* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

* Technical background with a minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).

Essential Certifications

* Full GWO Certification, including Enhanced First Aid.

* Valid OGUK Medical including Chester Step test.

* Full UK driving licence preferred.

Additional Information

* Hybrid working arrangement.

* Offshore travel throughout the UK will be required.

* Consultant to provide standard PPE including safety boots and workwear.

* Company equipment will be provided.

* Travel associated with project requirements will be reimbursed in line with client policy
