The role
Orbit are looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor on a 6 month FTC to cover a secondment. You will assist the Health & Safety Manager in the implementation and on-going support of a Group wide Health and Safety Management System to ensure legal compliance and continuously improve the H&S infrastructure, systems, compliance, audit, assurance and competency.
This role is part of Corporate Services where you'll help us give colleagues the support they need to be brilliant.
What you'll achieve
In this Health & Safety Advisor position you will be responsible for providing advice, guidance and support on all health and safety related issues.
Responsible for undertaking Health and Safety audits, inspections, investigations and ad-hoc visits
Responsible for collating data, carrying out statistical analysis to support the Health & Safety Manager with reporting
Responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, procedures and guidance and ensuring that any updates required are highlighted to the Health & Safety Manager Responsible for providing support to other departments on H&S related issues when necessary.
Responsible for liaising with external agencies as and when required such as HSE, Fire Authorities and Environmental Health.
Responsible for the contract management of HSQA systems and providers.
What you'll bring
Essential skills
Knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation, regulations and codes of practice
NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
Tech IOSH or equivalent
Experienced in developing H&S Management Systems
Experience of report writing
