Join us and help shape a brand new local service

About the role

Edenserv is East Devon’s new Local Authority Trading Company, delivering a high quality community waste and recycling service across the district. To support Edenserv to build their teams, we’re looking for an organised and customer-focused HR Administrator to join our team as a Human Resources Support Officer. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll provide essential administrative support across the employee journey, from recruitment and pre-employment checks to contract changes, probation tracking and leavers administration. You’ll play a key part in keeping our HR systems and records accurate, supporting managers and candidates, and helping us deliver a responsive, efficient and professional HR service.

About you

You’ll bring strong administrative experience, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to manage sensitive information with care. We’re looking for someone with great communication skills, a logical approach to problem-solving and the ability to work accurately at pace, especially when coordinating recruitment activity and maintaining HR data. Experience of supporting recruitment or HR processes would be an advantage, as would familiarity with iTrent or a similar HR system. Above all, you’ll be collaborative, adaptable and committed to delivering a high-quality service that supports both colleagues and candidates.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the successful completion of pre-employment checks, including right to work, references, qualification verification and a Basic Disclosure check.

About us

Our last Local Government Association Peer Challenge highlighted that “EDDC is a great place to work, with engaged staff and members” — and we couldn’t agree more. You’ll be joining an organisation that puts people at the heart of everything we do, working collaboratively with our communities to deliver high‑quality services and create an outstanding place to live, work, visit and enjoy. With a strong focus on wellbeing, a highly flexible and supportive hybrid Worksmart approach, and a commitment to continuous learning and development, you can be confident of joining a workforce culture where colleagues are empowered to be Happy, Healthy and Here.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a positive employee experience in an organisation that values trust, accountability, teamwork and service excellence. If you enjoy being at the centre of busy HR activity and want to make a real difference behind the scenes, we’d love to hear from you.
