Our client is seeking an experienced and pragmatic HR Operations Manager to lead and develop our in-house HR function during an exciting period of growth. This is a newly established role offering the opportunity to build structure, enhance processes, and provide operational HR support across the business.

Our client is a fast growing technology business who are building one of the UK's most ambitious health and justice organisations, combining technology, workforce services and transformation consultancy. This appointment will play a critical role in shaping the next phase of their growth. The role will offer hybrid and based out of Glasgow City Centre.

Description

Working closely with business leaders and an external HR consultant, you will take ownership of day-to-day HR operations, ensuring employees and managers receive high-quality support while helping the organisation navigate growth, change, and integration activities. The role offers significant opportunity to develop into a broader strategic HR leadership position as the business continues to evolve.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Relations

Manage the day-to-day delivery of HR services across the business.
Act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR-related matters.
Lead and support employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance matters.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.Organisational Development & Change

Support organisational growth and integration activities following acquisitions.
Help embed consistent people practices across the organisation.
Identify opportunities to improve workforce capability, employee experience, and operational effectiveness.
Assist leaders in building strong, inclusive teams and promoting positive workplace culture.HR Systems & Process Improvement

Build and maintain scalable HR processes and governance frameworks.
Review current HR practices and implement improvements where required.
Produce HR metrics and insights to support business decision-making.
Drive continuous improvement across HR operations and administration.Recruitment & Talent

Partner with hiring managers to support recruitment and onboarding initiatives.
Reduce reliance on external agencies by developing internal recruitment capability.
Ensure a positive candidate and employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.Stakeholder Management

Work collaboratively with senior leaders to understand business challenges and provide practical HR solutions.
Partner with external HR advisors and consultants where appropriate.
Build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.Profile

A successful HR Operations Manager should be:

Hands-on, practical and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
Experienced in managing a broad range of operational HR activities.
Confident leading employee relations cases independently.
Able to build structure and processes within a growing business.
Commercially aware and able to align people initiatives with business objectives.
Strong communicator with the ability to influence and build credibility with stakeholders.
Adaptable and resilient, with experience supporting growth, change, or integration projectsEssential Experience

Proven generalist HR experience within an HR Manager, HR Operations Manager or similar capacity.
Strong employee relations knowledge and experience.
Experience developing HR policies, procedures, and people frameworks.
Sound understanding of UK employment legislation.
Experience supporting organisational change, business growth, or integration activity.Desirable Experience

CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above).
Experience within a scaling SME environment.
Experience supporting acquisitions, TUPE activity, or post-acquisition integration.
Previous experience setting up or enhancing an internal HR functionJob Offer
