An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and competent individual to join us as HR Manager. The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of Human Resource services across the organisation and to develop HR solutions to support the business in line with company objectives.

Responsibilities include:

* Providing a timely generalist, strategic and operational HR support and guidance to managers and employees that is applied with pragmatic and commercial thinking.

* Proactively leads, manages and motivates the HR team in the delivery of consistently high standards, timely responses and effective customer service.

* The post holder is also responsible for the management and development of the Health and Safety and Catering teams and providing these services

* Lead the design and implementation of the HR strategy to enable a high-performance organisation that supports the Investors in People Framework and improves organisational capability in line with strategic and operational goals.

* Work closely with and mentor line managers to promote and ensure the standardisation and consistency in the application of HR procedures. Constructively challenge and offer constructive feedback to drive a culture of management ownership of people, plans and goals to achieve optimum people performance and minimise risk and financial exposure

* Support in the design, development, delivery and continuous improvement of HR policies and associated processes, tools, templates, and development programmes that reflect current legislation and ensure legal compliance.

* Agree workforce plans with line managers and manage all stages of any associated recruitment.

* Own the company’s performance management process to support employee development, achievement of goals and succession planning.

* Provide HR leadership on issues involving policy, legislation, performance management, employee relations, benefits and reward, restructures, TUPE (including due diligence), contracts, payroll, and the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).

* Drive employee engagement and satisfaction through the promotion of SEM’s company culture and values whilst balancing employee concerns with company goals.

* Carrying out the annual bonus and pay review process and providing cover when required for the monthly payroll process.

* Lead and drive the continuous improvement of HR processes and provide data analysis regarding company performance against agreed KPI’s.

* Working closely with the German Headquarters in the execution and delivery of associated HR projects and improvements.

* Overseeing the accurate administration of all HR processes and systems ensuring effectiveness, timeliness & accurate HR data across all in internal systems, databases and spreadsheets.

* Some support is also provided to two smaller UK based sister organisations.

* Build credibility by maintaining a visible presence on the shop floor & throughout the business.

Our perfect HR Manager would have:

* Demonstrable experience of leading a HR function with a track record of defining and implementing HR and people strategies with proven success in subsequent achievement of business objectives. Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is advantageous.

* Deep knowledge of employment legislation and its application together with a strong knowledge of HR processes, administration, personnel costs and salary structures.

* Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members. Has the ability to identify and implement manage the training and on-going learning and development needs of staff.

* Sound knowledge of HRIS platforms and how they can be utilised/improved to drive business performance.

* An open and transparent approach; an individual who values and encourages team working, staff engagement, diversity & inclusion. Trustworthy with a completely confidential nature.

* An enthusiastic, pro-active, pragmatic, hands on with a ‘can-do’ approach. A strong commitment and desire towards making a difference and achieving results

* Commercial and financial awareness. Competent in planning, decision making with the ability to influence at all levels.

* Strong analytical & problem-solving capabilities

* The ability to handle challenging and sensitive situations with a combination of compassion and assertiveness

* Consistently high standards; demonstrates SEM’s values through personal example

* Demonstrable experience in developing, implementing and delivering against KPI’s and building a culture of customer focus; safety; quality and continuous improvement.

* Experience with Process Improvement approaches and Best Practice in HR. Can adapt and change direction of focus based on business need.

* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Can listen, influence, inspire and motivate others whilst giving direction and initiating change. Has the ability to build effective relationships and credibility at all levels, internally and externally.

* Excellent organisational skills with good follow up, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.

Qualifications

Degree qualified, Chartered MCIPD status / relevant HR or business related qualification.

Normal hours of work

Monday to Thursday, 7.30am-4.15pm or 8.00am-4.45pm. Friday, 7.30am-12.30pm or 8.00am-1.00pm and such hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties
