Job Opportunity: HR Consultant - Temporary Contract ????

Position: HR Consultant

Contract Duration: 3 Month Contract, with the possibility of an extension.

Location: S60 1AE

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

Pay Rate: £17.12 per hour (PAYE)

Role Overview:

provide Human Resources support and day-to-day advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of policies and employment law to managers and employees ensuring that council policies and procedures are followed appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for an allocated caseload, under the direction of relevant HR business partners/advisors, proactively contacting managers as directed to ensure compliance with e.g. immigration or safeguarding requirements or to develop plans to e.g. address performance or absence concerns.
As part of a wider group of HR staff, contribute to the further development of the provision of HR services to the Council, including participation and attendance at project groups, workshops, and seminars as required.
Undertake the collation of information/data for use in the delivery of any HR service. Undertake analysis of this information/data as directed producing statistics or other outputs as requested.
Undertake the on-going maintenance of HR data records (on all HR systems) for the business area supported (and other areas of the Council as directed) ensuring all HR records held are accurate, up to date and meet organisational objectives for the workforce and HR record keeping.
Support the establishment of positive working relationships with managers to assist in the provision of a high-quality HR service.
Develop constructive working relationships with Trade union representatives to ensure employee relations matters and collective discussions are undertaken efficiently.
Undertake research in HR-related matters as directed and participate as part of a wider group of HR staff in the implementation of HR projects, under the supervision of senior HR staff.
Actively promote the Council's equality objectives in terms of personal practice and within the context of all HR advice and guidance providedQualifications:

Experience in using computers including input into an HR/Payroll System
Previous experience or coursework in human resources is preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
