Role Purpose 

The role of the consultant is to apply targeted and specific knowledge to a range of situations across the council.  You will apply your knowledge of consulting practise to contract, devise and deliver key interventions aligned to the people strategy and with the knowledge of how to apply these through your specific discipline or business area.

Requirements 

Must have experience working in a council or housing association to be considered 
Must have employee relations experience 
Understanding of Legislation and regulations covering each aspect of the council’s work with a good knowledge and understanding of the practical application of the policies and procedures.

Pay and grading models and design approaches.
Project management techniques and employee relations.You will understand: Performance reward schemes that drive behaviours and change and reward contributions

Responsibilties 

You will deliver: Excellent relationships with key stakeholders across the programme including senior managers, trade union representatives, communications, and subject matter expert Key packets of work within the overall project related to pay, benefits, rewards, business models and engagement.
Outstanding opportunities for employee experiences including regular benefits and activities, one off big events and tailored experiences for targeted groups of staff. Insight and measurement into the motivators and views of employees, including the ability to increase participation and satisfaction.
The development of a tactical and operational plan, agreed with clients and your Business Partner
The development of key products within your professional area of discipline, through a consultancy approach with clients.
Corporate ownership of the temporary resourcing requirements of the council, ensuring planned activity, contract management and effective monitoring of our temporary resources.
Proposals and the delivery for key recruitment campaigns aligned to service plans and/or key talent programmes such as apprenticeships, graduate etc.

Contract 

Initial 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend 
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm 
PAYE via Umbrella
