Position: HR Advisor
Type: Full-time, Permanent (Monday to Friday)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexibility required)
Location: Hemel Hempstead (4 days on-site, 1 day home working)
Travel: Occasional travel to other sites
Overview: Extrastaff are currently recruiting for a a HR Advisor. Based in Hemel Hempstead, you'll support a network and play a pivotal role in enhancing employee experience. You'll work closely with HR Managers and the management team, providing comprehensive HR services. With exciting changes ahead, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow alongside a thriving business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide credible HR advice and generalist support across the network.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, becoming a respected Advisor.
* Coach and support management on performance management and capability issues.
* Foster a collaborative relationship with the Trade Union and management.
* Advise on HR policies, processes, and employment legislation.
* Handle employee relations issues, including absence, disciplinary, and grievance meetings.
* Support recruitment and selection to ensure balanced team composition.
* Assist in creating development and people plans with HR and Site Managers.
* Deliver induction training for new starters.
* Perform HR administration tasks (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, referencing).
* Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with GDPR.
Essential Criteria:
* Significant experience in complex employee relations cases.
* CIPD Qualified or working towards qualification.
* Proven HR experience in a similar role.
* Creative and pragmatic decision-making skills.
* Flexible approach to working hours (24-hour operation).
* Experience in a unionised environment is highly desirable.
* Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.
* Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
* Excellent organizational skills and initiative.
* Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites.
