HR Advisor - Maternity Cover

The Vacancy

We currently have an opportunity for a HR Advisor to join us on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This position will be based in our Bath office.

You will provide a professional, high quality HR service across the firm. You will be designated a Division and provide HR advice to staff and managers to support the delivery of business plans.

Travel to other offices will occasionally be required.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as a key point of contact for relevant Business Unit/Service Teams providing a consultative advisory service to managers and staff on all employee matters including performance management, restructuring and redundancy, maternity/shared paternal leave, absence, grievances and disciplinary

* To communicate effectively with the Recruitment Manager to understand resourcing needs for the relevant Division

* Co-ordinate the appointment process for successful applications for the relevant Business Unit/Service Team from job offer to onboarding

* To communicate with the HR Operations Manager and Senior/HR Advisors on a regular basis to ensure knowledge is shared on ER issues

* Establish and maintain effective relationships and communicate relevant activity across the broader HR team

* To make suggestions for continuous improvement of HR policy and process

* To make process improvements on About Me as part of the operations system improvement plan

* To support the HR Director and HR Operations Manager with any projects as required to deliver the HR strategy

* To provide support with Early Careers activity and programmes as required

* Attend interviews as required

* To communicate effectively with the L&D Advisor to enable appropriate development solutions and interventions

* To provide regular reports as required

* To ensure accurate entry of data on the HR system

* To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested

Skills, Experience and Attributes

* Degree level qualification preferably in HR or a Business-related field or full CIPD qualification

* Up to date knowledge of UK Employment Law and best practice

* A minimum of 3 years experience of giving HR advice within a professional services or similar background

* Experience of effectively using HR systems to record data and produce reports

* Provides pragmatic and commercial HR advice

* Ability to write clear reports and analyse data and trends

* Builds strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the business
