Job Advertisement: Housing Support Worker

Location: Southwest London
Nearest Train Station: Tooting Broadway station (Just down the road)
Postcode: SW16 6NS
DBS Level: Enhanced (Both adult and child)
Service Users: Low to Medium risk individuals aged 16-21 plus children in care.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-Time) - Monday to Friday, either 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. One weekend shift required every 4-5 weeks, with a day off during the week when a weekend shift is worked.
Car Driver Needed: No
Own Vehicle Needed: No
Valid Business Insurance: Yes

Main Duties:
As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to low to medium-risk individuals transitioning into independent living. Your main responsibilities will include:

Engaging with aftercare leaving teams to support service users in their transition to independent living.
Ensuring benefits claims are submitted and maintained, monitoring accounts, and taking appropriate action in case of arrears, following policy and procedure.
Planning and delivering effective support and safety plans with service users, referring to specialist agencies as required.
Recording, monitoring, reviewing, and updating service user contact and progressions/outcomes regularly in line with contractual requirements.
Keyworking a caseload of 6 or more clients, providing individualized support tailored to their needs and circumstances.
Reporting to the Senior Support Worker and directly to the Services Lead when necessary.
Undertaking lone working as required, ensuring the safety and well-being of service users at all times.

Number of Properties: Two units on the same road, with a caseload of 6 or more clients to keywork

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS clearance covering both adults and children.
Previous experience in a housing support or similar role, preferably working with young adults.
Knowledge of benefits systems and experience in managing accounts and arrears.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with vulnerable individuals.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
