Description:

My client is an established housing provider based in West Yorkshire looking to recruit an experienced Housing Support Worker for a number of their properties across the region. They are looking for a passionate and experienced individual with extensive knowledge around supported accommodation and housing management.

As the Housing Support Worker, you will be supporting clients and assisting them with their individual support needs to enable them to be able to move on to permanent accommodation.

The Housing Support Worker will be carrying out a range of duties such as but not limited to:

·To onboard and offboard clients as required and to ensure that all of the relevant paperwork is completed

·The Housing Support Worker will introduce the client to the provider's Pathway

·Ensure clients are familiar with their new property and appropriate information is provided

·To go through and explain the license agreement with particular reference to house rules and consequences of non-compliance.

·Complete an online housing benefit application on behalf of the client and ensure they have signed the license agreement

·Update Internal software with all relevant documents for each client

·The Housing Support Worker will complete weekly support sessions

·To compile a risk assessment and support plan for each new client

·Update risk assessments and support plans on a weekly basis and ensure all documents are uploaded to both the internal and external software

·To signpost clients to relevant support services available in the area

·To ensure prompt and appropriate responses to all enquiries

·Assist with accessing food banks & other resourceful charities

·Manage expectations in relation to re-housing clients, working closely with the local authority

·Work with clients to reduce anti-social behaviour

·Run single or group workshops covering basic life skills

·The Housing Support Worker will offer support through financial budgeting

·Ensure clients meet their obligations relating to service charges

·To respond to any issues of anti-social behaviour and take retrospective action in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures.

·With authorisation from senior management, carry out breaches in line with the organisation’s policy once approved by the local authority

·Carrying out health and safety checks of individual properties and communal areas

·Report any faults or repairs and keeping accurate records

This is a permanent role and is full time, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm however some flexibility with working hours may be required as per requirements of the service.

The starting salary offered for this role is 23,950.

This vacancy is suitable for those who drive and have access to their own car.

You will need to ensure you have a valid, enhanced DBS check on the update service or a DBS that has been issued within the last 2 years.
