Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of a large, established housing charity with services across the UK, who are expanding their provision in Manchester.

They are looking for an experienced Complex Needs Support Worker to join a new service supporting adults and children, with a particular focus on domestic abuse, safeguarding and complex support needs.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about safeguarding and supporting vulnerable people, with the opportunity to be part of a new service and help make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities of a Housing Support Worker:

Provide practical and emotional support to adults and children with complex needs.
Support individuals affected by domestic abuse and safeguarding concerns.
Complete referrals, assessments and risk assessments.
Support with move-ins, inductions and ongoing assessments.
Work closely with Children’s Services, local authorities and partner agencies.
Support residents with Housing Benefit and welfare-related matters.
Carry out regular room and welfare checks.
Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
Maintain accurate case notes, records and support plans.
Promote independence, safety and tenancy sustainment.
Participate in the on-call rota for emergency situations.Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience as a Support Worker, Complex Needs Worker or similar.
Strong background in domestic abuse and safeguarding.
Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or children.
Confident completing risk assessments, referrals and support assessments.
Experience working with Children’s Services and other statutory agencies.
Understanding of housing, tenancy sustainment and Housing Benefit.
Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care, Supporting Adults/Children, Counselling, Domestic Abuse or a related field would be desirable.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Full UK driving licence - company car and fuel card provided
Professional, resilient and confident when dealing with complex situations.
