Description:

The successful candidate will need:

To manage a team of officers to provide the frontline customer service to the housing service including providing help, advice and assistance to individuals seeking rehousing, presenting as homeless or who are at risk of homelessness.
To lead on the delivery and development of customer contact to the housing service through a range of methods including face to face drop in, pre planned appointments, via telephone and email to ensure that the service is accessible for all.
To manage the Council's housing register including the assessment and determination of housing need in accordance with the West Midlands allocations policy as well as responsibility for undertaking reviews of housing applications.
To lead on the development and delivery of a range of housing options for customers including social, private and supported housing to meet the needs of a diverse range of customers.
To lead on system development across the housing service to ensure that the use of housing IT systems are maximised for efficiency and service delivery.Further details include:

Manage and support the Housing Advice and Welfare team to ensure the delivery of a high quality housing options and advice provision in line with legislation and the code of guidance.
Monitor budgets and prepare appropriate reports in respect of housing options, the housing register, homelessness and housing IT systems.
To manage and coordinate the Council's response to out of hours homelessness provision including contract and performance management, development of rotas and service development.
To develop and monitor a number of contracts to provide a range of accommodation for homeless households.
Monitor budgets and prepare appropriate reports in respect of relevant subjects.
Act as Duty Manager for the Housing Advice Centre on a rota basis, as required, ensuring the safety of staff and customers within the centre.The successful candidate will have to commute to the office up to 3x a week in the West Midlands, and looking for a start date of the 1st July.
