Description:

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Birmingham-based Housing Association for an experienced Housing Officer to join the team on an initial 4-month contract.

This is a varied housing management role covering a generic tenancy management caseload, with responsibility for delivering an effective and customer-focused housing service to residents.

The role will involve a mixture of office-based, home-based and community work, so you will need to be comfortable managing your own caseload, attending appointments and visiting properties and tenants when required.

Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer:
Manage a caseload of residential tenancies from start to finish.
Deal with day-to-day tenancy management matters and resident enquiries.
Manage and investigate Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) cases.
Take appropriate action to address breaches of tenancy and tenancy-related issues.
Conduct tenancy visits and property inspections where required.
Identify and respond to tenancy breaches, safeguarding concerns and other housing-related issues.
Work with residents to resolve tenancy issues and sustain tenancies wherever possible.
Liaise with internal teams, local authorities and external agencies where appropriate.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date tenancy and case records.
Prepare correspondence, notices and relevant tenancy documentation.
Manage rent and tenancy-related issues within the scope of the role.
Provide advice and support to residents regarding their tenancy responsibilities.
Attend meetings, appointments and property visits as required.
Ensure all cases are progressed in accordance with housing policies, procedures and relevant legislation.About You:
We are looking for an experienced Housing Officer with a strong background in generic housing management.

You will ideally have experience of managing a varied caseload and dealing confidently with residents, including more complex or challenging tenancy matters.

What We'd Love To See From You:

Previous experience working as a Housing Officer / Tenancy Officer / Neighbourhood Officer or similar.
Strong experience of generic tenancy management.
Experience managing and investigating ASB cases.
Experience dealing directly with residents and resolving tenancy-related issues.
Good knowledge of tenancy management processes and housing legislation.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organisational and case management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
