Description:

I'm helping a well establised housing provider recruit for a Housing Officer position.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver an effective and customer-focused housing management and tenancy service.

* Manage rent arrears, including Housing Benefit and Universal Credit cases.

* Provide support around financial inclusion and debt management.

* Manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases and work towards effective resolutions.

* Support allocations and voids management, ensuring properties are managed efficiently.

* Build positive and professional relationships with residents and encourage effective tenancy engagement.

* Follow through legal and tenancy enforcement proceedings, including representing PRHA at court where required.

* Attend and contribute to external meetings with partners, agencies and community stakeholders.

* Act as a key point of contact for residents, providing advice, guidance and support.

* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve tenancy and neighbourhood issues.

* Maintain accurate records and ensure all housing management activities comply with relevant legislation and organisational policies.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

* Proven experience in housing management or a closely related environment.

* Experience of legal proceedings, tenancy enforcement or transferable legal skills.

* Strong knowledge and practical experience of rent arrears and income management.

* Experience dealing with Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.

* Knowledge of financial inclusion and debt management.

* A good understanding of relevant housing legislation and tenancy law.

* Excellent customer service and communication skills.

* Strong organisation, time management and planning skills.

* The ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise competing demands.

* Strong problem-solving, negotiation and influencing skills.

* The confidence to deal with challenging situations professionally and effectively.

* A proactive, approachable and resident-focused attitude.
