Salary: Up to £37,000 including car allowance
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Location: Home-based, covering areas across MK/Beds or South Cambs/St Neots

Are you passionate about supporting residents and creating thriving communities? An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Housing Officer to manage tenancies, resolve neighbourhood issues and help residents maintain secure, sustainable homes.

Working remotely, you’ll spend much of your time visiting residents and estates, with occasional travel to the organisation’s Bedford-based office for meetings and team collaboration.

Please note: Due to travel, a valid UK licence and access to your own transport is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee rent accounts, address outstanding arrears and work with residents to find practical solutions to financial difficulties.
Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour complaints, taking appropriate action and recognising safeguarding concerns.
Carry out estate visits and inspections, monitoring communal areas, service standards and fire safety requirements.
Work alongside specialist housing colleagues to provide effective support for residents with more complex needs.
Build strong relationships with residents, colleagues and external agencies to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
Manage tenancy-related matters in line with individual circumstances, providing referrals and guidance to access additional support where required.
Promote positive neighbourhoods and encourage residents to sustain their tenancies successfully.
About You:

Previous experience in housing management or tenancy services, ideally within social housing.
Knowledge of anti-social behaviour procedures, relevant legislation and effective case management.
Experience dealing with rent arrears and helping residents manage financial challenges.
A customer-focused approach, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and fairly.
Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organisation and the ability to prioritise a varied workload independently.
Confidence working with a range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for residents.

Additional Information:

The role is home-based, with regular travel to resident properties and estates across the Oxford to Cambridge corridor.
A full pre-employment screening process will apply, including references and a DBS check.
Applications may be reviewed as they arrive, and the vacancy could close early once a suitable candidate has been identified.
If you have a background in housing and enjoy helping residents overcome challenges while maintaining safe, well-managed communities, this could be an excellent next step in your career
