Description:
We are looking for a Housing Officer who have previous experience of working with vulnerable people in a supportive setting. Working schedule is Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm
In this role you will:
* Work face to face with vulnerable adultts people and support them to achieve their goals.
* Help young people overcome difficult circumstances and achieve independence.
* Work independently and as part of a team in accommodation based or floating support services for young people
* Undertake initial and ongoing needs and risk assessments for young people accessing services
* Manage your own caseload of clients, providing holistic support in line with their needs and aspirations
* Liaise with multiple agencies to ensure effective communication across the service and externally including social work teams, health and other statutory services and voluntary agencies
* Make internal and external referrals to a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies for specialist support and Employment and Training opportunities
* Support people to manage their rent accounts through liaison with the DWP, Social Services and building their own personal budgeting skills
The ideal candidate will have:
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* housing experience
* IT skills necessary to undertake administrative and reporting requirements
* Numeracy skills sufficient to calculate necessary benefits and rental requirements
* A proven ability to effectively manage incidents
* The ability to manage workload to meet range of conflicting deadlines
* Experience of effective void and arrears management
* Appropriate experience working with vulnerable people in a supportive setting including supported housing, social care, health care or related area
