Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Housing Assistant to join our dynamic team at a London Council. As a Housing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our housing services by completing tenancy audits, managing gas safety letters, and programming fobs for our residents. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tenancy Audits:
* Conduct regular tenancy audits to ensure compliance with council policies and housing regulations.
* Visit properties to verify occupancy and assess the condition of the premises.
* Document findings and report any issues or discrepancies to the housing management team.
* Work with tenants to resolve any concerns or questions related to their tenancy agreements.
2. Gas Safety Letters:
* Manage the distribution and tracking of gas safety inspection letters to tenants.
* Coordinate with contractors to schedule gas safety inspections and ensure timely completion.
* Maintain accurate records of gas safety certificates and follow up on any outstanding inspections.
* Communicate with tenants to address any queries or concerns regarding gas safety inspections.
3. Fob Programming:
* Program and issue fobs for tenants, ensuring secure access to properties and communal areas.
* Maintain an up-to-date database of issued fobs and access permissions.
* Assist tenants with fob-related issues and provide prompt resolution to any access problems.
* Monitor and manage fob inventory, ordering new fobs as needed.
4. Customer Service:
* Provide excellent customer service to tenants, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
* Liaise with tenants to ensure they are informed of any updates or changes related to their tenancy or property access.
* Support the housing management team with general administrative tasks and duties as required.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a housing-related role or similar administrative position.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with housing management software is desirable.
* Knowledge of housing regulations and compliance requirements is an asset.
* Valid UK driving license is preferred.
