Description:
Elevate projects are working in partnership with a valued client to appoint a Housing Advisor to join there Housing options and Homelessness team. A great opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team and working environment, this includes good training and personal development opportunities, offering flexible working from home and in council offices.
Key responsibilities:
* Face to face working with customers.
* Day drop in for homeless, and offering telephone advice.
* Providing direct one-one advice
* Attend professional meetings
* Visit supported housing applicants
* Supporting applicants to work in partnership with multiple agencies
* Create personal housing plans for each applicant based on assessment.
Experience's and key skills required:
* A good understanding of homelessness legislation, including the homeless reduction act.
* A wider knowledge of social housing, welfare reform and local government.
* Excellent IT skills
* Ability to manage complex and varied work load, in occasional demanding times.
* Great communication with applicant, landlords and professionals
* Ability to motivate applicants to take active steps to prevent their own homelessness or find alternative accommodation
