Hospital Services Supervisor
Location: Swindon
Pay: £14.10 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days
Shifts: 07:00-15:00 or 11:00-19:00
Rota: Fixed rota including weekend working
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Hospital Services Supervisor to oversee cleaning, housekeeping and patient catering services within a busy hospital environment.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for leading and supporting a team of cleaning staff and ward hosts, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, food safety and patient service are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise, motivate and support cleaning staff and ward hosts.
· Ensure staffing levels and daily cleaning and catering schedules are maintained.
· Monitor service standards and complete quality and competency checks.
· Provide training, guidance and support to new and existing team members.
· Ensure food safety, HACCP, infection control, COSHH and Health & Safety procedures are followed.
· Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials, consumables and catering provisions.
· Deal with patient/customer feedback and complaints professionally.
· Report accidents, incidents, hazards and maintenance issues appropriately.
· Manage operational issues during your shift and escalate where required.
· Maintain accurate records, training documentation and reports.
· Work closely with ward-based nursing teams and hospital management.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
· Previous supervisory experience, ideally within a hospital, healthcare, cleaning, housekeeping or catering environment.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· A good understanding of hygiene, Health & Safety and infection control.
· Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
· A flexible, professional and "can-do" attitude.
· The ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
· The ability to undertake a physical role involving manual handling and being mobile for most of the working day.
