In this role, you will be at the forefront of addressing and preventing homelessness, providing critical support and guidance to individuals and families at risk. Your work will not only contribute to the well-being of those in immediate need but also to the broader goal of creating a more stable and supportive community. The service provides support to single adults who are homeless or at risk of being made homeless within 56 days. In this role you will manage a caseload of service users over an 8 month period, this is to ensure they settle in to new accommodation and can go on to sustain their tenancies independently.
The ideal candidate will bring a compassionate approach and a strong commitment to social justice. Key responsibilities include assessing the needs of clients, developing personalised support plans, and liaising with a range of service providers to secure the necessary resources for those at risk of homelessness.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- A proven track record in a support or advisory capacity, preferably within the housing or social care sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, ensuring that clients receive timely and appropriate assistance.
- A thorough understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness and the legislative framework governing housing and welfare rights.
Candidates should also demonstrate resilience and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a dedicated team.
In order to be considered for the role you will need the following:
* Knowledge and experience of working with welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform) and (Health and Safety)
* Knowledge and experience of working with the causes of homelessness and the ability to create interventions with service users to address these.
* Experience of working in a target led environment.
* Experience in negotiating and accomplishing daily outcomes.
