Description:

Are you a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), particularly within Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) settings? Or are you a Learning Support Practitioner looking to progress? Are you looking for a new and exciting role? HLTAs play a pivotal role in supporting students with diverse learning needs – your skillset is needed!

We are looking for a HLTA/Unqualified teacher to work as a cover teacher during the absence of the class teacher (i.e. to cover PPA and training.) This would suit somebody who has already delivered lessons in a SEND setting, or feels confident to take the next step.

Key Responsibilities

* Curriculum Support: Assist in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, adapting materials to meet individual student needs.

* Individual and Group Interventions: Plan and deliver targeted interventions, both one-on-one and in small groups, to support students' academic and personal development.

* Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies to maintain a positive learning environment.

* Assessment and Monitoring: Support the monitoring and recording of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the planning process.

* Classroom Preparation: Prepare the classroom for lessons, ensuring resources are available and the environment is conducive to learning.

* Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students.

* Safeguarding: Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the welfare of all students.

Qualifications and Experience

* HLTA Status: Possession of a Level 4 or higher HLTA qualification is typically required. Please call to discuss experience, as there are different roles for varying levels of experience and qualifications.

* SEND Experience: Demonstrated experience working with students with SEND, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

* Educational Background: A good understanding of the UK National Curriculum and experience in delivering lessons or interventions.

* Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

The school are conducting interviews during the summer for this role. Please do not hesitate to contact us to register your interest or to ask any questions you may have. This is wonderful opportunity in a fantastic school and college
