Hours: 08:30 – 15:30

About the School:

The Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ school is based close to the Southampton area for students aged from 4 to 11 years, with around 400 students. It is a mixed primary school which has a supportive and inclusive environment fostering the growth of its pupils.

Job Description:

The HLTA role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at supporting both students and teachers. You will actively engage in the learning process by collaborating closely with teaching staff to assist in planning and delivering lessons across various subjects. Your role will involve providing personalised support to students, including those with special educational needs, to ensure they receive the attention and guidance necessary for their academic progress. This will include both one-on-one sessions and small group activities, fostering an environment where every student feels supported and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Actively engage in the learning process by collaborating closely with teaching staff to assist in planning and delivering lessons across various subjects.

-          Provide personalised support to students, including those with special educational needs, to ensure they receive the attention and guidance necessary for their academic progress.

-          Demonstrate the ability to motivate and engage all students effectively.

-          Capable of using initiative and being resourceful.

-          Be a positive and collaborative team member.

-          Exhibit patience and excellent communication skills.

-          Be efficient with time management and proficient in handling a busy schedule.

-          Delivering and supporting KS2 Interventions in small groups.

Requirements:

-          Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.

-          A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-          Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

-          Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.

Qualifications:

-          Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

-          Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education.

-          HLTA Qualifications
