Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Dinas Powys

Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school in Dinas Powys from Monday - Friday each week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is confident leading a class, managing classroom behaviour and providing high-quality learning support. The successful candidate will also have strong experience working as an LSA and be comfortable taking responsibility for a class when required.

The Role

As an HLTA, you will be expected to:

Lead lessons and take responsibility for a class when required
Deliver engaging and effective learning activities
Work closely with the class teacher to support pupil progress
Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support
Use your LSA experience to support pupils with a range of learning needs
Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
Adapt activities to meet different abilities and learning styles
Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
Assist with planning and preparation where required
Maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures

We're Looking For

Previous experience working as an HLTA, LSA or experienced Teaching Assistant
Strong experience supporting pupils within a primary school
Confidence leading a class independently
Experience delivering lessons or planned learning activities
Strong behaviour management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A calm, confident and adaptable approach
Someone who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Full-time availability

Requirements

Relevant HLTA/Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
Enhanced DBS - essential
EWC registration - essential
Right to work in the UK
Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks
