Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in South Liverpool. This is a full-time position offering the chance to make a real difference to pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing every day.

You will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, support individual pupils, and lead small group or whole-class sessions when required. This is a varied and rewarding role in a school that values every member of its team.

This role is open to HLTA's, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), experienced teachers looking for a different role and experienced Education Professionals. Whether you are newly qualified and looking to build classroom experience in a supportive environment, or a seasoned professional seeking a new challenge or change of pace within a primary setting, we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons
Lead small group interventions and whole-class sessions in the teacher's absence
Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs
Assist in assessing pupil progress and contributing to reporting
Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
Uphold the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times

What we're looking for

HLTA status or a teaching qualification (ECTs welcome to apply)
Experience working with primary-aged children
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, flexible approach and a genuine passion for education
An up-to-date DBS or willingness to obtain one
