TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming secondary school in the South Shields area that is committed to providing a positive and inclusive learning environment for both students and staff. The school values high-quality support, promotes excellent behaviour and achievement, and offers a supportive leadership team dedicated to staff development.
The school is looking to appoint a full-time, permanent HLTA to join their team from September. The successful HLTA will support teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, deliver planned interventions, provide classroom cover when required, and work closely with teaching staff to ensure all students are supported to achieve their full potential.
The successful HLTA will have:
HLTA qualification or relevant experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Experience supporting students within a UK secondary school
The ability to deliver small group interventions and cover lessons confidently
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A proactive, adaptable and positive approach to supporting learning
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
