South London Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity £110 - £140 per day (dependent on experience)
Are you an experienced HLTA looking for a rewarding role within a supportive SEN setting?
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist school in South London. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HLTA who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you will lead small group interventions, deliver pre-planned lessons, and provide targeted support for students with a range of special educational needs.
The setting supports pupils with needs including:
* Autism (ASC)
* SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
* ADHD
* Speech and Language Difficulties
* Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
* Additional complex needs
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver lessons and learning activities in the absence of the teacher.
* Lead intervention groups and targeted academic support sessions.
* Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
* Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
* Work closely with teaching staff to monitor progress and implement support strategies.
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
* Contribute to EHCP targets and pupil development plans.
The Ideal Candidate
* HLTA qualification or significant experience in a similar role.
* Previous experience working within an SEN school, alternative provision, or specialist setting.
* Strong understanding of Autism, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
* Confident leading small groups and delivering learning activities independently.
* Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
* Patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
