Our mission is to find a passionate History Teacher to provide a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages students to achieve their highest potential, joining the team from September!

Role overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher who can inspire and engage students with a love for history. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality history lessons, fostering critical thinking, and developing students' understanding of historical events and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging history lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive history curriculum that aligns with national standards and school objectives.
• Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation, inquiry, and a passion for history.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
• Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, including history clubs, trips, and events that enhance the learning experience.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the history department.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
• Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Desired experience

• Proven experience teaching history at the secondary school level.
• Strong knowledge of the history curriculum and current educational best practices.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Experience in organising and leading extracurricular activities is highly desirable.
• Has the ability to control and manage a classroom, delivering exciting lessons through interesting and diverse methods.
• Is passionate about education and a genuine desire to help people reach their full potential.
• Has great communication and wants to work in a fun and friendly team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
