Teacher of History – Darwen, Lancashire

History Teacher Required | November 2026 – July 2027

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of History to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Darwen, Lancashire, from November 2026.

This is a full-time position initially running until July 2027, offering an excellent opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a thriving Humanities department.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote student progress.
Assess, monitor and report on student attainment and development.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Contribute to the wider life of the Humanities department and school community.
The Ideal Candidate

Applicants must:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Have experience teaching History within UK secondary schools.
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for History.
Be committed to raising achievement and inspiring young people.
Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Contract

Full-time, initially until July 2027
