Starting Date: September 2024, Long-term Contract with Potential for Permanent Placement

Salary: Competitive (£140-£230 per day, based on experience)

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Full-time position

Overview: Are you passionate about history education and dedicated to inspiring young minds with the stories of our past? We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic History Teacher to join our dynamic team at a Secondary School in Farnborough.

About the Role: We are currently seeking a dynamic History Teacher to join our Secondary School in Farnborough on a full-time, long-term contract starting from September 2024. As part of our supportive department, you will be responsible for teaching History to students in KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons to deepen their understanding of the past. We welcome both experienced History Teachers and Early Career Teachers with a passion for historical education.

About the School: Situated in Farnborough, Hampshire, the Secondary School serves students aged 11 to 16. With a student body of approximately 950 students, the School prioritise in high teaching standards and foster a friendly and collaborative environment among our staff. The School values the professional development and well-being of our team, offering ample support and free parking on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver captivating history lessons across different age groups and skill levels.
Teach various aspects of history, including key events, themes, and historical analysis.
Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment to stimulate students' curiosity and critical thinking.
Organize and lead historical projects, debates, and field trips to enrich students' learning experiences.
Provide guidance and support to students preparing for history exams, research projects, and future studies in the humanities.
Requirements:

Qualified History teacher with relevant teaching qualifications and experience.
Depth of knowledge in historical subjects and periods, with a passion for bringing history to life.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a deeper appreciation for history.
Experience in leading historical societies, research projects, or educational initiatives is desirable.
