Highways Site Technician

Glasgow

First People Solutions is working with a leading consulting engineer who are looking for a Site Technician to join their team, working on behalf of a major public sector client across Scotland's trunk road network.

The role will focus on carrying out inspections, auditing and monitoring of road and structures assets, ensuring Suppliers are delivering works in accordance with contractual requirements, specifications and good practice.

This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineering Technician or experienced highways professional looking for a site-based role with responsibility for inspection, compliance and quality across a major roads network.

The Role

Carry out inspections, audits and monitoring in accordance with agreed programmes
Inspect, audit and monitor asset inventory collection and updating across the roads network
Carry out site inspections and issue notices based on observations in accordance with Supplier contracts
Verify Supplier records are accurate and that works have been completed in accordance with specifications and contract documentation
Verify quantities and values claimed by Suppliers and ensure these provide a true record of works undertaken
Contribute to reports and information required
Maintain a strong understanding of the relevant Supplier contracts and contractual requirements

What We're Looking For

HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent, or a relevant experience within highways, roads or civil engineering
2+ years of experience highways, roads, or civil engineering
Experience carrying out site inspections, monitoring and reporting preferred
Good knowledge of roads construction and maintenance preferred
Good understanding of highways maintenance and construction works
Ability to accurately review records, quantities and works completed on site
Strong reporting and communication skills
Full clean drivers licence and able to work on-site
