Highways Lead Engineer - Traffic Signals

Our Field teams are critical in the delivery of our contracts, whether that is delivering or supervising maintenance, installation, cabling or civils works. Help build and keep the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of field engineers to ensure they are working efficiently, ensuring KPI's are met and completing all traffic signals maintenance tasks. You will undertake reactive and planned maintenance on traffic signals equipment covering the M25

What you'll do:

Responsible for all Traffic Signal Technology maintenance tasks as determined by Service Delivery Manager
Performance monitoring, reports and information provision.
Ability to manage/lead a team of field based engineers
Demonstrate a high degree of fault competence, including the co-ordination of maintenance teams and liaison with third-party resources
Will attend to emergency faults and knock downs and carry out corrective maintenance including the reinstatement of sites, cable and equipment damaged by others.
Complete dynamic risk assessments for work activities and be proactive in managing safety at all times
Attend to faults outside normal working hours on a rota basis and give guidance to other engineers Who you are:

As the Lead Engineer you will have previous experience of managing field engineers and ideally have an understanding of Traffic Signals Technology.

Key Requirements:

Electrical background, ideally 18th edition or equivalent
PC literate / IT Proficient
G39 Awareness of working near live power
Knowledge and application of current technologies, standards and best practice relating to National Highways Motorway and trunk road communications systems
Full UK driving licenceWhat we offer:
