Introduction:
Our client, a local authority in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a Highways Engineer to join their Planned Maintenance Team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the delivery of carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes
Prepare and review highways designs and plans
Coordinate and liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and other departments
Conduct site inspections and assessments
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and external parties
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
Prepare and submit reports, budgets, and documentation
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in Highways Engineering, particularly in carriageway and footway resurfacing schemes
Strong knowledge of highways design standards and specifications
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Self-motivated and proactive approach to work
Full UK driving license
In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations
