Role Overview:

As a Highways Design Engineer, you will be a pivotal part of the Engineering Department, which is recognised industry-wide for its expertise and collaborative behaviour.

Overall, you will be working on major, multi £m highway scheme designs and providing support and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders
Produce designs, calculations and specifications using the appropriate software and in accordance with national standards and codes.
Support with the assessment of and ensure compliance with scheme specific VRS requirements.
Support the wider business (e.g. Sales, Contracts, Operations and Production teams) from a technical and engineering perspective.
Engage with customers, including Scheme Designers, Scheme Delivery Partners, Highways Authorities, Product Installers and Product Specifiers.
Attend and participate in internal and external meetings and site visits.
Maintain awareness of the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets and provide feedback.
Provide informal mentoring of and support for colleagues within the Engineering Department.
Skills Profile

Working knowledge of DMRB standards, associated guidance and general highways practices.
The ability to collaborate with highways design teams to the highest appropriate technical standards.
An appropriate higher education qualification in civil and/or structural engineering.
Proficient in CAD and MS Office
A strong technical understanding with the ability to multi-task and prioritise own workload,
Able to operate in a fast-paced organisation and be experienced in delivering high quality technical information with a focus on deadlines.
