Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Highways Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our highways, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all road users.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on highways, including pothole repairs, resurfacing, and line marking.
Operate and maintain various equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
Assist in the installation and repair of road signs, barriers, and other highway infrastructure.
Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct traffic management duties, including setting up and taking down traffic control measures.
Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on time.Requirements
Proven experience as a Highways Operative or similar role in the construction or maintenance industry.
Proficiency with construction tools and machinery used in highway maintenance.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to highway operations.
Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NRSWA) are highly desirable.
Reliable transportation to various job sites in the Surrey area.
