Are you an experienced Highways Operative?

Regional Recruitment are recruiting for a Highways Operative / Senior Operative to join Highways East Midlands Ltd, a growing highways maintenance business. This is a site-based role requiring a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider site team. You will support the delivery of high-quality highways and surfacing works across Midlands and nationwide commercial projects, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Essential:

Experience in highways or line marking
Full UK Driving Licence
CSCS Card
NVQ Level 2 in Road Markings (Pavement Marking)
Desirable:

SSSTS or SMSTS
IPAF, PASMA or Lantra qualifications
Roles & Responsibilities

Carrying out road and car park line marking works
Applying thermoplastic and MMA products in line with project requirements
Supporting car park refurbishment works
Undertaking surface preparation and removal works
Supporting surfacing and minor civils activities
Working as part of a site team to deliver projects safely and efficiently
Supporting traffic management activities where required
Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and site efficiency
Working on nationwide commercial projects and travelling as required
Using modern equipment and following company procedures
Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other site personnel
Being willing to work overtime and night work when required
Undertaking any other ad-hoc duties as directed by the company.
Requirements

As a Highways Operative, you will also be expected to:

Work reliably and professionally across a range of highways and commercial projects
Maintain good communication and organisation throughout each project
Take pride in the quality of your work and contribute positively to the wider site team
A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and good communication and organisation skills
Health, Safety & Compliance

Comply with all employment legislation and relevant codes of good practice.
Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated legislation.
Co-operate fully with the company and colleagues to ensure statutory and safety requirements are always met.
