Fox Morris Group are delighted to be working with Cambridgeshire County Council to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile programme of highway maintenance and infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced highways professional to play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure improvements across Cambridgeshire.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of highway maintenance and associated infrastructure projects, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Working closely with internal teams, contractors, elected members and external stakeholders, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the development and delivery of highway maintenance and associated infrastructure projects.

* Manage multiple projects and programmes simultaneously, ensuring delivery against agreed timescales and budgets.

* Oversee project design development and provide technical input where required.

* Manage contractors, monitor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including elected Members, parish councils and local communities.

* Monitor project risks, programme performance and financial expenditure.

* Prepare reports, updates and project documentation for senior management and stakeholders.

* Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, policies and health & safety requirements.

* Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes across the service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* A minimum of 10 years' experience working within Highway Maintenance.

* Proven Project Management experience within a Local Authority or similar public sector environment.

* Strong experience delivering highway maintenance and associated infrastructure projects.

* Knowledge and understanding of highway design principles.

* Experience managing contractors and holding them accountable for performance and delivery.

* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with elected Members, parish councils and external partners.

* Experience managing high-volume programmes of work within demanding deadlines.

* Strong financial management skills with experience managing project budgets.

* Experience working within Cambridgeshire would be highly desirable.

* Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

What's on Offer?

* £350–£400 per day (DOE)

* 12-month contract

* Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days remote)
