Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a strong therapeutic approach to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and emotional needs of our students, working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a comprehensive and supportive educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational programs that integrate therapeutic approaches.
Work with individual students and small groups to support their academic and emotional development.
Implement strategies to manage and support students with challenging behaviors.
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Provide one-on-one support to students with specific needs, helping them to engage fully in their learning.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessment and planning meetings.
Support the development of social skills and emotional regulation in students.
Facilitate therapeutic activities and interventions as part of the school day.
Engage with parents and caregivers to provide updates and support strategies for home.
Maintain a safe and positive learning environment at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:

HLTA qualification or equivalent.
Experience working with children with SEN and EBD in a specialist setting.
Knowledge of therapeutic approaches such as CBT, play therapy, or mindfulness.
Strong understanding of child development and the impact of trauma on learning and behavior.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
Desirable:

Additional training or qualifications in therapeutic interventions.
Experience in a multi-disciplinary team.
First Aid qualification.
