Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Job

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming school on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA, Teaching Assistant, or Learning Support Assistantlooking to take the next step in their career within a supportive education setting.

You'll work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning, lead interventions, and provide support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH, Autism (ASD), ADHD, and other learning differences.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.

Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to improve pupil progress.

Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and additional learning needs.

Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Implement behaviour management strategies, including PRICE or TeamTeach approaches where appropriate.

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and wider school staff to support student outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this HLTA role, you'll ideally have:

HLTA qualification or be working towards Level 4 Teaching Assistant status.

Previous experience working as an HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar education role.

Experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs.

Strong communication and classroom management skills.

A patient, adaptable and proactive approach.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
