Description:
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready for more responsibility, or an HLTA looking for a role where your experience will genuinely be put to good use?
We're looking for a confident and dependable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with a school in the Cambridgeshire. The school needs someone who is comfortable taking a more active role in the classroom, supporting learning and stepping in to lead activities when required.
This isn't simply a role where you'll be expected to sit at the back of the classroom. We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved, knows how to engage pupils and can confidently take responsibility when the class teacher needs additional support.
What will you be doing?
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
Leading planned lessons and learning activities
Providing whole-class cover when required
Working with individuals and small groups
Supporting pupils who need additional help with their learning
Helping to maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines
Adapting activities to suit different levels of ability
Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress
Working closely with teachers and the wider school teamYou'll need to be able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations in the classroom.
Who are we looking for?
We'd particularly like to hear from experienced HLTAs and Teaching Assistants who are ready to take on greater classroom responsibility.
You could be a good fit if you:
Have strong experience working within a school or education setting
Are confident leading groups and managing a classroom
Can follow teachers' planning and deliver activities effectively
Communicate well with pupils and colleagues
Are calm, organised and reliable
Can adapt when the school day doesn't quite go to planAn HLTA qualification would be beneficial, although relevant school-based experience will also be considered.
Why consider this HLTA role?
A good HLTA can make a huge difference to how smoothly a classroom runs. This position gives you the opportunity to use the experience you've already built while taking on more responsibility for teaching and learning.
You'll also have Jack at Simply Education supporting you throughout the process. Jack works with teaching and support staff across Cambridge and wider Cambridgeshire and will talk you through the role before putting you forward.
