The Position - Higher Level Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a full-time basis. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, making it ideal for an enthusiastic HLTA who enjoys working across different year groups and supporting pupils with a range of learning needs.You will be responsible for delivering whole-class cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, teaching pre-planned lessons and ensuring pupils remain engaged and make good progress throughout the school day. Alongside class cover, you will lead targeted intervention groups in core subjects, helping to raise attainment and close learning gaps. You will also provide in-class support, working alongside teachers to assist individuals and small groups, adapting learning activities where needed and promoting positive behaviour for learning.You will need to be organised, flexible and confident managing a classroom independently while building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.There will be a trial during the first week back in September, giving you the opportunity to meet the staff, experience the school environment and demonstrate your skills before starting the role.
